Academic Supervisor of the Department of World Economy, Faculty of World Economy and World Politics, National Research University Higher School of Economics, Professor L. Grigoriev gave an expert commentary on the air of the program “Events. 25th hour” for the TV channel “TV Center”.

On January 26, was the broadcast of the program “Events. 25th hour". During the broadcast Academic Supervisor of the Department of World Economy, Faculty of World Economy and World Politics, National Research University Higher School of Economics, Professor L. Grigoriev highlighted the issue of US debt problems and gave an expert commentary on the global position of the dollar.

The professor noted: “50-70 percent of trade contracts in the world are concluded in dollars. In addition, dollars occupy a huge share in the reserves of Central banks.  Plus, dollars are sitting in debt, because the American public debt is in dollars, and it is simply gigantic. Oil money, corrupt money is also in dollars. In a word, there is no immediate drive to get rid of the dollar in the world today.  Another thing, it turned out to be extremely inconvenient to have a financial system that runs all through New York and through dollars”.
